Get Started with TickTalk 6
Follow these steps to set up your watch and start staying connected. This guide includes separate instructions for new TickTalk customers and customers upgrading from TickTalk 4 or TickTalk 5.
Before You Begin
- Fully charge your TickTalk 6.
- Have your phone and Wi-Fi password ready.
- Keep both the watch and phone nearby during setup.
- If you are upgrading, keep your old watch available until your wireless line, settings, and data have been transferred.
Important for international customers: Initial TickTalk 6 eSIM activation is currently available only in the United States. Customers outside the United States should not purchase or attempt to activate TickTalk 6 at this time. International eSIM versions are coming soon. Global Travel Plans are for eligible customers who first activate an active U.S. TickTalk Wireless plan and then travel abroad.
Step 1: Download the TickTalk Parent App
Desktop users: Use your phone to scan the QR code below, or search for “TickTalk Kids Smartwatch” in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
Mobile users: Tap the Mobile Download button below to open the official TickTalk app download page.

After downloading the app, create a parent account or sign in to your existing account.
Step 2: Turn On, Connect, and Pair Your Watch

Step 3: Activate TickTalk Wireless
TickTalk 6 has a built-in eSIM. No physical SIM card, carrier store visit, or activation through a personal AT&T, T-Mobile, or Verizon account is required. For U.S. use, TickTalk 6 requires an eligible TickTalk Wireless plan.
New TickTalk Wireless Customers
- Open the TickTalk Parent App.
- Go to My Services > Wireless & eSIM.
- Select an available TickTalk Wireless plan and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Keep the watch powered on and connected to Wi-Fi while activation completes.
Upgrading from TickTalk 4 or TickTalk 5
Do not cancel your current TickTalk Wireless line. In the Parent App, go to My Services > Wireless & eSIM and select Transfer Plan. Follow the prompts to move your existing TickTalk Wireless line from the physical SIM in your old watch to the built-in TickTalk 6 eSIM. Your existing watch phone number will be retained when the transfer is completed successfully.
Back up or transfer your old watch data before resetting, removing, trading in, or sending back the old watch.
After You Submit Activation or Transfer
- Keep TickTalk 6 connected to Wi-Fi.
- On the watch, go to Settings > OS Update and install the latest available software.
- Follow any remaining instructions shown in the Parent App or on the watch.
- You will receive confirmation when activation is complete.
Note: TickTalk Wireless plans have no activation fee and no contract. Plan pricing, features, taxes, and eligibility are shown during activation and are governed by the applicable TickTalk Wireless Terms of Use.
Step 4: Confirm Cellular Service
After activation, swipe up on the watch to open the Status Center. Confirm that the carrier name, signal bars, and connection symbol appear. Make a test call and check the watch location in the Parent App.
If the Watch Shows “No Service” or “Not Activated”
- Confirm that activation or transfer was completed in My Services > Wireless & eSIM.
- Connect the watch to Wi-Fi.
- Go to Settings > OS Update and install the latest available update.
- Restart the watch, then check the Status Center again.
Wi-Fi can support some features during setup, but it does not replace cellular service when the watch leaves that Wi-Fi network.
Step 5: Finish Your Child’s Setup
Complete the child profile, add approved contacts, configure safety and communication settings, and set up School and Focus Modes. We recommend making a test call and checking location before your child begins wearing the watch away from home.
