Upgrading from TickTalk 4 to TickTalk 5 typically takes about 10–15 minutes.
The process includes:
- Backing up your TickTalk 4
- Moving your SIM card (if applicable)
- Pairing your TickTalk 5
- Restoring your child's data
- Removing the old watch from your account
Step 1: Back Up Your TickTalk 4
Before switching watches, create a T-Cloud backup.
- Power on your TickTalk 4 and connect it to Wi-Fi.
- Open the TickTalk App.
- Go to Parent Portal > T-Cloud.
- Wait until the backup completes successfully.
Once the backup is finished, you can power off the watch.
Step 2: Move Your SIM Card
If you're using the same TickTalk Wireless service, you can move your existing SIM card from your TickTalk 4 to your TickTalk 5.

Step 3: Pair Your TickTalk 5
- Insert the SIM card into your TickTalk 5.
- Power on the watch.
- Connect the watch to Wi-Fi.
- Open the TickTalk App.
- Select Add Another TickTalk.
- On the watch, go to Settings > Pair to display the QR code.
- Scan the QR code using the TickTalk App.

Step 4: Restore Your Child's Data
After pairing is complete, the TickTalk App will prompt you to restore your most recent T-Cloud backup.
Select Yes and allow the restore process to finish.

Step 5: Remove the Old TickTalk 4
After confirming that your TickTalk 5 is working properly:
- Open the TickTalk App.
- Select your TickTalk 4.
- Go to Parent Portal > Contacts > App Users.
- Tap the red Unpair link next to the Admin User.
- Log back into the app.
Only your TickTalk 5 should remain on the account.
