This article explains how billing works for your TickTalk Wireless plan, so there are no surprises on your statement.
When Am I Charged?
You're charged when you first activate a TickTalk Wireless plan, and then automatically at the start of each billing cycle to keep your child's watch connected. Your bill reflects the final price for that period, including any applicable taxes and fees.
What Happens If a Payment Fails?
If a payment doesn't go through — for example, an expired card — your service isn't cancelled right away. Here's what happens:
- Grace period: You have 3 days from a failed payment to update your payment method and pay — your child's watch keeps full service during this window, and nothing else changes if payment goes through in time.
- Overdue period: If payment still hasn't gone through after the 3-day grace period, your service may become restricted (for example, limited to incoming calls/texts only, or reduced data) until payment is completed.
- Automatic restoration: Once payment is successfully collected, full service is automatically restored — no need to contact support.
We recommend updating your payment information as soon as possible to avoid any interruption in service.
[Exact overdue period length — see note below]
If your first payment worked but a later renewal failed: make sure you're using a supported payment card for the subscription. Some non-U.S. payment cards may not support recurring charges — if renewal continues to fail, try another supported payment method.
To restore service after a failed renewal: if the payment failed due to insufficient funds or a temporary card issue, update your payment method or funds as needed — the system may retry the charge automatically, or you can retry payment directly from My Plans. If your original card is no longer valid, update your payment information under My Services > My Plans, then retry the payment.
How Do Refunds and Credits Work?
If you're owed a refund or credit — for example, due to a cancellation or a billing adjustment — it will be issued as a credit on your account. Credits can cover all or part of a charge, though certain taxes and fees may not be refundable depending on the circumstances.
Depending on the situation, a credit may be refunded back to your original payment method, or applied as account balance toward a future charge.
Refunds are processed through your bank or card issuer, so we're not able to provide a downloadable PDF receipt for a credit or refund. Timing for when a refund actually appears on your statement can vary by bank.
What Payment Methods Are Accepted?
TickTalk accepts major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Diners Club), as well as PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Amazon Pay, and Shop Pay.
[Confirm this list also applies to recurring TickTalk Wireless billing, not just one-time hardware purchases — see note below]
Will I Be Notified Before I'm Charged?
Renewal charges happen automatically so your service isn't interrupted. If there's ever an issue with a charge, you'll be notified so you can update your payment information.
What Happens If I Upgrade My Plan?
Plan upgrades work one of two ways:
- Immediate upgrade: You're charged the price difference right away, and your new plan's features are available as soon as that payment goes through.
- Scheduled upgrade: Your upgrade takes effect at your next renewal date, and you're billed the new plan price starting with that renewal.
Can I Use a Promo Code or Discount?
[Whether TickTalk currently offers customer promo codes — see note below]
If a promo code or discount is applied to your account, it may cover just your first bill, a set number of months, or the full life of your plan, depending on the offer. Once the discount period ends, your invoices will reflect the regular plan price.
