What Is TickTalk Radio?
TickTalk Radio is a parent-managed, station-based music and wellness experience for your child's TickTalk 6 watch. As the parent or legal guardian, you select your child's age group, review available stations, and manage access — your child cannot independently purchase or manage a TickTalk Radio subscription.
Which Devices Are Eligible?
TickTalk Radio is currently available only for eligible TickTalk 6 devices and accounts. TickTalk 4 and TickTalk 5 are not eligible for TickTalk Radio.
Eligibility can also depend on your device software, account, plan, territory, and content licensing, so availability may vary.
How Much Does TickTalk Radio Cost?
For eligible TickTalk Wireless Essential customers, TickTalk Radio is available as a standalone add-on for $4.99/month (regular price $6.99/month), plus applicable taxes. The price shown and accepted at checkout applies to your purchase — TickTalk may change pricing in the future, and where required by law, you'll get advance notice before a price change takes effect.
Is TickTalk Radio Included With Any Wireless Plan?
Yes. TickTalk Radio is available through either of the following:
- TickTalk Wireless Essential — TickTalk Radio is optional and can be added as a separate monthly subscription at any time.
- TickTalk Wireless Premium — TickTalk Radio is included at no extra charge as part of the Premium plan, for as long as your Premium plan stays active and eligible.
Billing and Automatic Renewal
A standalone TickTalk Radio subscription bills monthly and renews automatically until canceled. It runs on its own billing cycle — separate from your TickTalk Wireless billing cycle — generally based on the date you started your Radio subscription.
By subscribing, you authorize TickTalk to charge the monthly fee and applicable taxes to your account's payment method until you cancel automatic renewal.
Upgrading or Downgrading Your Wireless Plan
Upgrading from Essential to Premium: If you have an active standalone TickTalk Radio subscription and upgrade to Premium, your standalone Radio subscription is automatically stopped so you're not charged twice. Radio access continues through Premium instead, at no extra charge.
Downgrading or canceling Premium: If your Premium plan is canceled, expires, or is downgraded to Essential, your Radio access through Premium ends when your Premium entitlement ends. TickTalk will not automatically start a new paid Radio subscription for you — if you want to keep Radio on Essential, you'll need to actively purchase the standalone subscription again.
How Do I Cancel TickTalk Radio?
You can turn off automatic renewal at any time through the TickTalk App, including under My Services, or through another cancellation method TickTalk makes available.
Once you cancel, you won't be charged again, but your Radio access continues through the end of your current paid billing period.
Note: deleting the TickTalk App, resetting your watch, or simply not using Radio anymore does not cancel your subscription on its own — you'll need to actually cancel it in the app to stop billing.
Refunds
Standalone TickTalk Radio subscription fees are generally non-refundable once a billing period has started, except where required by law or approved by TickTalk. This includes situations like canceling partway through a paid period, not using the service, or not liking a particular song or station.
What Kind of Listening Experience Is TickTalk Radio?
TickTalk Radio is a curated, station-based experience — not an on-demand music catalog. Songs play as part of programmed station rotations. Unless a feature specifically says otherwise, your child can't search for and instantly play any song, control the exact playback order, build unrestricted playlists, or download songs for offline listening.
Age Groups and Parental Controls
TickTalk Radio offers stations organized into three age groups: Junior (ages 3–5), Explorer (ages 6–9), and Tween (ages 9–12). The age-9 overlap between Explorer and Tween is intentional — it gives parents flexibility to choose the listening experience that best fits their child, rather than a single fixed cutoff.
Parents can preview stations across the available age groups, select the group that best fits their child, and individually enable or disable stations. Content is curated with the goal of being age-appropriate, but families have different standards around lyrics, themes, and genres — TickTalk can't guarantee every parent will find every item suitable, so it's worth reviewing available stations yourself and adjusting access as needed.
If you come across content that seems inappropriate for its age group, or you have a content suggestion, reach out to support@myticktalk.com.
Can I Preview TickTalk Radio Before Subscribing?
Yes. Eligible parents can preview a limited number of stations in the app before subscribing. Preview limits may apply by station and by day. Once you subscribe, you can select the age group and individually enable or disable stations based on your child's age and preferences.
Are There Free Stations, or Is a Subscription Always Required?
Full watch playback requires an eligible TickTalk Radio subscription (either standalone, or included with Premium). Without a subscription, parents can preview stations in the app, but full playback on the watch itself requires eligible Radio access.
Can My Child Only Listen to Content for Their Exact Age?
No — parents choose which age group's stations are available (Junior, Explorer, or Tween), and can preview and enable/disable individual stations within that group. There's no separate restriction locking a child to only content matching their exact age within the chosen group.
Can My Child Use Bluetooth Headphones With TickTalk Radio?
Yes. If Bluetooth isn't connected, Radio plays through the watch speaker by default. You can connect compatible Bluetooth headphones before starting playback so audio plays through the headphones, or switch from speaker to headphones during playback using the headphone/Bluetooth control.
How Can I Limit How Long or When My Child Uses TickTalk Radio?
- Use DND/Focus schedules in the TickTalk App to limit non-essential watch use during school, homework, or other restricted times.
- To limit Radio usage duration specifically, configure the available Daily Limit in the Radio settings.
- To limit when Radio can be used, configure the available Downtime Schedule in the Radio settings.
Are There Limits on Switching Stations?
The watch displays enabled stations based on the age group selected in the TickTalk App. Station switching/refresh limits may apply within Radio — the current app/watch interface shows any applicable limits when relevant.
How Many Stations Are Available for Each Age Group?
Each age group (Junior, Explorer, and Tween) includes multiple curated station categories. Exact station counts and selections may change over time as Radio content is updated.
Does TickTalk Radio Have Regional Restrictions?
Full music-station playback is available in supported U.S. service areas, subject to content licensing. Music stations are not available for international playback. Some wellness content may remain available with an eligible Travel Plan, depending on licensing and service configuration.
Requirements to Use TickTalk Radio
To use TickTalk Radio, you'll need:
- An eligible TickTalk 6 device
- A parent-managed TickTalk account
- Current device and TickTalk App software
- An eligible TickTalk Wireless plan or standalone Radio subscription
- An active cellular or Wi-Fi connection
Playback quality can be affected by network coverage, signal strength, and other factors outside TickTalk's control.
Content and Availability May Change
Stations, songs, artists, and features may change over time, and availability can vary by territory due to music licensing. A TickTalk Radio subscription doesn't guarantee that a specific song, station, or feature will always be available.
