How Does the Trade-In Program Work?
You pay the full price for your TickTalk 6 first, then ship your old device after your new watch arrives. If your device matches your submission and meets the eligibility requirements, you receive the full trade-in amount shown on your request as a refund to your original payment method.
- Submit your trade-in. Select your TickTalk 6 and your old device, review the trade-in amount shown, and accept the terms.
- Pay in full. Complete checkout for your TickTalk 6. The trade-in must be added before checkout is completed — it can't be added afterward.
- Receive and set up your TickTalk 6. You'll get a Packing List and a prepaid return label, along with instructions for preparing your old device. Set up your new watch before you prepare the old one.
- Ship your old device by the ship-by date shared with you after your TickTalk 6 is delivered.
- We verify your device. We confirm it matches your submission and meets the eligibility requirements.
- Get your refund. After approval, we initiate the refund to your original payment method.
Do I Get a Discount at Checkout?
No. You pay the full price for TickTalk 6 at checkout — the trade-in amount is not a coupon or an instant discount. It comes back to you as a refund after your old device is received and approved.
Which Devices Can I Trade In?
The trade-in form shows which brands and models are eligible and the amount for each. One eligible old device can be traded in for each TickTalk 6 you purchase.
Eligible devices are accepted in any physical or working condition — including devices that don't power on. We verify that the device matches your submission and is eligible; we don't reduce the amount because of wear or faults.
You don't need the original purchase receipt or order number for your old device. TickTalk devices are verified by IMEI.
If the model you send differs from your submission, or the device isn't eligible, we'll contact you first. No other amount applies without your agreement.
How Long Do I Have to Ship My Old Device?
You have 21 days to ship your old device. The 21 days start after your TickTalk 6 is delivered — not when you place your order — and the exact ship-by date is shared with you after delivery.
The deadline is for shipping, not for us to receive it. Your device is on time if it ships by the ship-by date, so keep your drop-off receipt.
If your TickTalk 6 is lost in transit, contact Support. The 21 days are counted from when your TickTalk 6 is actually delivered.
When Will I Receive My Refund?
After your old device is received and approved, we initiate the refund to the original payment method you used for your TickTalk 6 order within 7 calendar days of approval.
Your bank or payment provider may need additional time to post the refund. Receiving your device at our warehouse isn't the same as approval — we confirm it matches your submission first.
How Do I Get My Old Device Ready to Ship?
Before you erase anything, confirm your new watch works and the information you want to keep is available on it.
If You're Trading In a TickTalk Watch
- Back up your old watch. After your TickTalk 6 arrives, complete activation and any available data transfer or sync, then confirm what you want to keep is on the new watch. See: How to Transfer or Sync Data to a New TickTalk Watch
- Transfer your plan and number, if applicable. To move your eligible plan from a physical SIM to the TickTalk 6 eSIM, see: How to Upgrade or Trade In to TickTalk 6: Transfer Your Plan and Keep Your Number. After a successful transfer, the old physical SIM is deactivated and can't be reused — remove it and don't send it back.
- Reset the old watch. If it powers on, open the TickTalk App, tap your child's avatar at the bottom, select the old watch you're returning, and go to Parent Portal > System Reset.
- Remove the old watch from your account. Return to the app home screen, tap your child's avatar, select that same old watch, and tap Remove > Stop Using This Watch. Make sure you select the old watch, not your TickTalk 6.
- Pack and ship. Pack the watch securely, include the Packing List, attach the prepaid return label, and ship by the deadline. SIM cards, chargers, bands, original packaging, and other accessories are not required.
If You're Trading In a Non-TickTalk Device
- Back up your data using the original brand's instructions. If the device powers on, erase your personal information, perform a factory reset, remove it from the original account, and turn off any device locks.
- Remove any physical SIM card and don't send it back. Cancel any original carrier or manufacturer plan or subscription separately — shipping the device doesn't cancel those services.
- Pack and ship. Include the Packing List and use the prepaid return label. Non-TickTalk devices and batteries from completed trade-ins go to a professional third-party recycler.
About Your Data
A device that can't power on isn't ineligible just because its data can't be erased. If your device powers on but you can't reset it or remove it from your account, contact Support before you ship it.
TickTalk can't back up or recover data on your old device or guarantee that data will be deleted, so please erase everything you can access before shipping. If you forgot to erase your device and haven't shipped it yet, erase and unlink it first. If it has already shipped, contact Support right away.
Can I Get My Old Device Back?
- After your trade-in is approved and refunded: the trade-in is complete and the device can't be returned — even if you later return your TickTalk 6.
- If your trade-in is incomplete: you can have your old device returned for $6 per return package, paid within 30 calendar days of our payment notice. If the fee isn't paid within 30 days, the device is recycled and can't be retrieved afterward. We can't guarantee the device's original functional, cosmetic, or data condition.
An incomplete trade-in means the original request can't be refunded as submitted — for example, if the device doesn't match your submission and you decline the adjustment.
What If Something Goes Wrong?
- I already shipped my device. Keep your drop-off receipt. A device that shipped on time isn't treated as late while it's in transit or awaiting verification.
- I missed the ship-by date. Without an approved extension, the trade-in request is closed and no trade-in refund is issued; your TickTalk 6 order isn't affected. Contact Support right away if something is preventing you from shipping on time.
- My old device was lost in transit. If it was shipped with the prepaid return label and is confirmed lost in transit, you'll still receive the trade-in amount shown on your request. We'll verify your shipment and tracking first.
- My refund hasn't arrived. Refunds are only confirmed after payment processing succeeds. If we've confirmed the refund was processed but you don't see it, your bank may need additional time to post it. Contact Support if it still hasn't appeared.
What If I Cancel or Return My TickTalk 6?
- Before your trade-in is completed: the linked trade-in is canceled. If you haven't shipped your old device yet, don't send it. If you already shipped it, we'll return it under the incomplete-trade-in terms above.
- After your trade-in refund has been issued: your old device can't be returned, and any refund for your TickTalk 6 will account for the trade-in refund you already received, so the same amount isn't refunded twice.
Does My Old Watch's Extended Warranty Transfer to TickTalk 6?
No. A TickTalk 5 Extended Warranty doesn't transfer to TickTalk 6 or remain in effect for your new watch, and transferring your wireless plan doesn't transfer coverage.
We strongly recommend adding TickTalk Care+ for your TickTalk 6. Go to TickTalk App > My Services > Warranty & Care+. Care+ can only be added within 30 days of your TickTalk 6 activation and can't be added afterward, so don't wait for your trade-in to be received, approved, or refunded before purchasing coverage. For details, see: TickTalk Care+ Protection Plan: What's Covered, Pricing, and How to File a Claim
Can International Customers Trade In for TickTalk 6?
Not at this time. TickTalk 6 currently supports eSIM activation with U.S. carriers only, so customers outside the United States should not purchase or trade in for TickTalk 6 yet.
If you're outside the U.S. and need a trade-in or replacement, that will continue through the existing TickTalk 5 replacement path until international TickTalk 6 support becomes available.
