How Do I Block Unknown Callers and Messages on TickTalk 5?
TickTalk allows parents to block all calls and messages from numbers that have not been approved.
When enabled, your child will only be able to receive calls and messages from approved contacts saved by the Administrator or authorized App Users.
How to Enable Block Unknown Callers
- Open the TickTalk App.
- Go to Parent Portal.
- Turn on Block Unknown Callers.
Once the setting syncs to the watch, only approved contacts will be able to communicate with your child.
What Happens When This Feature Is Enabled?
When Block Unknown Callers is turned on:
- Calls from unknown phone numbers are blocked.
- Messages from unknown phone numbers are blocked.
- Only approved contacts can communicate with the watch.
- Contacts added through the TickTalk App continue to work normally.
For the best experience, we recommend adding your approved contacts before enabling this feature.
My Watch Is Still Receiving Unknown Calls or Messages
If the watch continues to receive communications from unknown numbers:
- Confirm Block Unknown Callers is enabled in the TickTalk App.
- Make sure the watch is online using either:
- Cellular service, or
- Wi-Fi
- Turn Block Unknown Callers off.
- Wait a few moments.
- Turn Block Unknown Callers back on.
The updated setting should automatically sync to the watch.
Important Note
If the watch is powered off, offline, or has no cellular/Wi-Fi connection, new settings from the TickTalk App cannot be delivered until the watch reconnects.
