Common Questions
- Why haven't I received my TickTalk verification code?
- Will my verification code arrive by text message or email?
- What if I don't remember whether I registered with a phone number or email?
- Why can't I receive an SMS verification code outside the United States?
- What should I do if the verification email is missing?
If you have not received a verification code while creating an account or resetting your password, check the phone number or email address you entered, then follow the relevant steps below.
Step 1: Check Where the Code Was Sent
Verification codes are sent by SMS or email, depending on the method used for verification.
- If you entered a phone number, check that phone's text messages.
- If you entered an email address, check that email account's inbox.
Make sure the phone number or email address is entered correctly, without typing errors or extra spaces.
If You Don't Remember How You Registered
Your existing TickTalk account may have been registered with a phone number or an email address.
- Try the phone-number login option.
- If that does not work, switch to email login and try the address you may have registered with.
- If needed, select Forgot Password and follow the reset instructions.
- Check both your text messages and email, including spam or junk folders.
If you try the other login method, request a code using that method as well. A single request does not necessarily send a code to both SMS and email.
Step 2: If You Are Not Receiving an SMS Code
- Confirm that the phone number and country code are correct.
- Make sure your phone has cellular reception and can receive text messages.
- Check any blocked-message or spam folders available in your messaging app.
Phone Numbers Outside the United States
SMS verification codes may not be delivered reliably to phone numbers in some countries outside the United States.
If you are creating a new account and cannot receive an SMS code, use email registration and verification instead.
If you are trying to access an existing phone-number account, contact TickTalk Support if SMS verification continues to fail. Creating a separate email account will not recover your existing account.
Step 3: If You Are Not Receiving an Email Code
- Confirm that the email address is correct.
- Check your spam or junk folder in case the verification email was filtered automatically.
- Make sure your mailbox is not full and can receive new emails.
- Refresh your inbox and check again.
Step 4: Check Your Connection and Try Again
Make sure your phone has a working Wi-Fi or cellular data connection so the TickTalk App can submit the verification request.
Temporary network or delivery-service issues may delay a code.
Wait a few minutes, then request a new verification code and check the appropriate SMS inbox or email account again.
