Common Questions
- Why am I not receiving TickTalk notifications on my iPhone?
- Why am I not getting message or FaceTalk notifications?
- Why do notifications only appear when I open the TickTalk App?
- Why are my notifications delayed or silent?
- How do I enable TickTalk notifications on iPhone?
If you are not receiving TickTalk App notifications on your iPhone, first check notification permissions, Focus settings, and your phone's internet connection.
Step 1: Allow TickTalk Notifications
When you first open the TickTalk App, you may be asked to allow notifications. If you previously declined, you can enable them in your iPhone settings.
- Open Settings > Notifications > TickTalk.
- Turn on Allow Notifications.
- Under Alerts, select Lock Screen, Notification Center, and Banners.
- Enable Sounds for audible alerts and Badges for app-icon indicators.
If notifications appear but make no sound, also check your iPhone's Silent Mode and alert volume.
Step 2: Check Focus and Do Not Disturb
Do Not Disturb, Sleep, Work, or another Focus can silence notifications.
Go to Settings > Focus and review the Focus you use.
- Temporarily turn it off to test notifications.
- If you want to keep it enabled, allow notifications from TickTalk in that Focus's Apps settings.
- Check any schedules that automatically activate the Focus.
Step 3: Check for Delayed Notification Delivery
If notifications arrive late or in a group, go to:
Settings > Notifications > Scheduled Summary
If TickTalk is included, remove it from the summary so its notifications are not held for scheduled delivery.
Step 4: Check Your iPhone's Internet Connection
Your iPhone needs a working Wi-Fi or cellular data connection to receive TickTalk App notifications.
- Check whether a webpage or another internet-connected app loads normally.
- If the connection is unstable, switch between Wi-Fi and cellular data.
- If using cellular data, make sure it is enabled for TickTalk under Settings > Cellular.
Once your connection is stable, test notifications again.
Step 5: Update the TickTalk App
Open the Apple App Store, search for TickTalk, and install any available update.
Open the app after updating, then test notifications again.
Step 6: Log Out and Log Back In
If notifications still do not arrive:
- Open the TickTalk App.
- Log out of your account.
- Log back in.
- Return to your iPhone's Home screen and have the watch send a new message to test notifications.
Make sure you have your login information available before logging out.
